I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
MATH: We are finishing up our geometry unit this week. We will be reviewing tomorrow and the test is on Wednesday. Thursday we will begin our unit on measurement. Measurement is a very small unit. I will be sending home a "Friendly Notes" information sheet in the red homework folders on Thursday. Please keep these notes at home to use as a reference when helping your child with homework. The measurement chapter test will be during the first half of the week next week. I have had some parents ask me if it was okay to continue practicing basic math facts with flash cards. Absolutely! These are some of the characters that students have dressed up as in the past:
Little Red Riding Hood and other characters from classic fairy tales Characters from the Wizard of Oz Sherlock Holmes Frog / Toad Owl Characters from Aesop's fables Characters from Ancient Egypt Characters from nursery rhymes Characters from Alice in Wonderland The main thing is to make sure to refrain from anything pop culture and that it is a character from history or classic literature. If you are not sure if one is acceptable e-mail me and ask. You are also welcome to contact the front office and ask as well. MATH: Two things were sent home in the red folders today.
