Wow! The first grade did so well at their concert. They looked adorable and sang with all their hearts. Of course, it is my opinion that 1B was the most well-behaved, looked the most adorable, and sang the best. (I am not biased or anything...) ;-)
SPECIAL MOMENT: There is a first grader who was having trouble reading at the beginning of the year. On Thursday, students were working in their math workbooks. I walked behind her as I was circulating the classroom. She was reading the math directions by herself!!!!!!! WATER BOTTLES: There are several scholars who are forgetting their water bottles on an extremely frequent basis. I did have a talk with my class about how cooler weather does not mean less thirsty. The air is dryer so easy access to water bottles is just important when it is cool out as when it is hot. Please make sure your scholar has a water bottle in his/her backpack when they leave for school in the morning! Thank you!!! XTRAMATH - As stated on the daily homework log, scholars need to be logging in and completing Xtramath at least 3 times per week. Completion of Xtramath three times per week is part of the overall math homework grade. ACADEMICS: Spalding - Students will learn 10 new words on Monday, 11 words on Tuesday and 9 on Wednesday. The review is on Thursday and the spelling test will be on Friday. Math - We are finishing our measurement unit this week. The review is on Monday and the test is on Tuesday. The review pages will be going on in the homework folders on Monday. Please go over the pages with your child at home. They have not been checked for completion or accuracy. They do not need to be returned to school. - After the test on Tuesday we will begin a daily review of all concepts taught during the first semester. The review pages will go home each night. Please go over the review pages with you scholar. They do not need to be returned to school. Enjoy your week! Hi! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. I ate a lot, shopped a lot, decorated a lot, spent time with my family, and made sure I prepped enough food that the left overs will carry me through to the end of the week. I love this time of year. Every one of my students walk into the classroom every day with wide eyes that are twinkling with excitement. They have been sharing with me all the things they did over the long weekend and have already started telling me their plans for the next few weeks.
