Well then! The field trip to the ballet was wonderful! Our class was seated in the first three rows, center stage!!! We have never been that close before and it was so exciting that our class got to be so up-close and personal. There were a lot of students from a lot of schools. I personally think Archway Trivium East was the best behaved of all the schools! (I'm really not being biased... Okay! Fine! I am biased when it comes to our first graders, but I know, in an unbiased way, that Archway Trivium East was the best behaved.)
So! How how many of your boys and girls have asked for ballet lessons for Christmas??? 1B PETER PIPER PIZZA PARTY: As I mentioned in last week's blog, this afternoon 1B gets to have the pizza party that we won on Peter Piper Pizza night. 2ND QUARTER LITERATURE CELEBRATION: The theme of our second quarter literature celebration is "Frog and Toad." ON A PERSONAL NOTE: - Okay. So I was a bit stressed on the field trip on Friday. I used to have everything down but the one year hiatus put me back almost to square one. Once everyone was seated I was good, but I was a but frazzled up until that point. I am very thankful I had a bunch of of very calm chaperones. I have to laugh at myself now as I don't consider myself a frazzle type (I guess we all have our moments) and I realize everything went perfect. - So I love love love the Buckeye ballroom dance studio I go to for dance lessons but thanks for an Arthur Murray Groupon I get to try out a different studio this week! (It doesn't hurt to check out different studios and experience different instructors. ) It is very important for classroom teachers to stay connected and compassionate with their students. Ballroom dancing actually helps me to do that. While dancing, a simple "Good!" is a big confidence boost and it helps me to feel more connected to my instructors. Those moments help me to remember to do the same with my students. As my students are learning reading, math skills, etc. they are in the same "head space" as I am as I learn new dance skills. For them a simple, "Good!", thumbs up, or smile is much of a confidence boost and feeling of connection as I feel with my instructors. NAME THE GOOD: - I had wonderful chaperones on Friday. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! - The ballet was amazing! ( I think I said that already but it is worth mentioning again.) - Winter break is almost here -family, friends, presents (I love to wrap!), yummy dinners, specials treats, staying up late, sleeping in, extra time with my son, more cuddle time with my cats... YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Have a good, fun, amazing, beautiful, wonderful, incredible winter break!!

Oh goodness! There is A LOT to write about. I was debating as to whether to send out individual e-mails as the week goes on or just put everything here in one spot. I decided on the put-everything-in-one-spot approach. That way it is easy to refer to.
