JUST A REMINDER: Any person who would like to volunteer in the classroom, on field trips, or help with quarter celebrations must have a fingerprint clearance card registered at the front office. If you are not fingerprinted, but that is something that would be interested in than be sure to attend the next PSO fingerprint event in April. Dear Parents, There seems to be a technical error and much of the blog got cut off. It should work this time.
ZOO FIELD TRIP INFORMATION Greetings, There are several details pertaining to our field trip Lunches/Water: We will be eating lunch at the zoo. We are asking that when packing your child’s lunch that day their food is packed in a disposal bag with disposable storage items. This will help minimize the amount of items our students and chaperones have to carry throughout the day. Once they are finished with their lunches they can simply throw away their trash and not have to worry about where their lunch bags need to go. Please label their lunch bags with their names. Please ensure they have a clearly labeled disposable water bottle with them that day as well. There will be water fountains and we plan to bring some extra water bottles but we do not want anyone getting dehydrated. The scholars will be asked to carry their water bottles throughout the day. What to wear: Students are required to wear their uniforms. We suggest the uniform shorts rather than pants since it will get warm by the afternoon. If your child brings a jacket, please make sure it is light weight and can easily be tied around the waste when it gets warm. Students may also bring sunglasses and hats. It will be their responsibility to keep track of these items. Please make sure that your child is wearing sunscreen. You will need to put the sunscreen on your child before he/she comes to school. Zoo Activities: The zoo offers a variety of activities for our scholars to participate in. The scholars have the opportunity to feed the Loray parrots, giraffes, and animals in the petting zoo. The price of the feed is $.50. If you would like to send quarters along with your scholar in a baggie with their name on it we can distribute the quarters to the chaperones to pass out. The scholars WILL NOT be allowed to ride any rides at the zoo or shop at the gift shop. Chaperones: If you have signed up to chaperone there are several requirements, restrictions, and deadlines involved. Since you will be responsible for several first graders, the school and the state requires you to be fingerprint cleared. This is for the safety of our students and cannot be waived in any way. Chaperones are asked to be solely responsible for the students in their care. We cannot allow any siblings to attend due to liability issues. If you have signed up to chaperone and have met all of the volunteer requirements but have not paid the entry fee please send in the $15.00 fee be tomorrow (Wednesday the 22nd) We are collecting all entry fees and will deliver the zoo one check for our entire group. Please note: All chaperone spots have been filled. If needed, we will send further information to all of the chaperones as the date approaches. If you have any other questions please feel free to email you homeroom teacher. Thank you! Mrs. Moreno: [email protected] Ms. Natividad: [email protected] Mrs. Spencer: [email protected] Hello!
