The field trip to the ballet went so well. Archway Trivium East was one of the youngest groups that were there. Our class behaved extremely well. The dancing was beautiful. I know that scholars enjoyed it. Whenever I glanced at any one of them their eyes were glued to the stage, taking in everything. As we left I saw several boys and girls attempt to copy the leaps and spins that they had seen on stage.
MATH FLASHCARDS: I had several parents ask where they could get math flash cards. You can find them at Dollar Tree, Target, and any other store that has a education section. You can also make you own using index cards. Last year I had found a website where you could make specific flashcards and then print them. I have since discovered that I can no longer do so on that website. If anyone happens to find a website where you can create and print your own flashcards please let me know. This week we are focusing on adding numbers through 20. Another information sheet was sent home in your child's red folder today. EXTENDED ABSENCES: I have had several parents ask about the extended absence policy. Our family handbook states: Family Vacations All family vacations should be scheduled during scheduled school breaks. Absences due to vacation will be considered unexcused absences. An unexcused absence longer than ten consecutive days will automatically result in the withdrawal of the student from the school. Teachers will not provide homework and/or class work for unexcused absences. Special considerations will be made for absences due to bereavement. Absences ACTE distinguishes between excused and unexcused absences. Excused absences are those due to illness, doctor appointment, bereavement, family emergencies, and some out-of-school suspensions. All other absences, including family vacations, are unexcused absences. In compliance with state regulations, students with unexcused absences of 10 or more consecutive days will automatically be withdrawn from the school.
