MATH: We are studying Geometry! It is one of my favorite units to teach. Afterall, who could not love geometry? Especially at the first grade level when there is so much exploring involved. I have sent home a "Friendly Notes" packet that covers everything we are learning. It is in the red homework folders. Please keep it at home with the other notes to use when helping your child with homework. Do not send it back to school. SPALDING: This week we will only be learning 10 words. The review will be on Tuesday and the spelling test will be on Friday. HISTORY: While studying the Maya and Aztec civilizations last week, the students found it very interesting at how similiar they were to the Ancient Egyptians. They also enjoyed solving math problems using the Maya number system. This week the focus will be on the ancient Aztec and Inca civilizations.
