AMAZING!
The concepts taught during the 3rd quarter move beyond review and introduction and they do get harder. Students who, for the first semester, said, "This is easy!" get challenged. Others have to work very hard to understand. I know I have said this before, but every day I continue to be amazed by my students as they rise up to meet challenges, as they learn, as they teach me, as that bright light inside them keeps strongly burning. I have seen amazing growth and maturity in every single scholar in my class. I want to tell you all, as you work with your scholar, academics or otherwise, challenges or not, never give up on them. Your children are amazing! LITERACY CELEBRATION: Last week the classroom coordinators sent out volunteer and supply sign-ups for our 3rd quarter literacy celebration this Thursday, March 7th. The review and friendly notes are going home in the red homework folders. We also made fraction bars which are in large zip bags. They put the in their back-packs. The fraction bars are a lot of fun and make it easy to see how 2 halves make a whole, etc. - We are starting the unit on telling time to the hour and half hour on Wednesday.
